  • New Scottish Business Park to generate about 2000 jobs

The Scottish business sector will benefit from a new business park that is expected to create up to 2000 jobs when complete. The park will be located at Dyce in New Aberdeen and its units will be ready for use by summer 2012.

The investment aims to attract new businesses to the country’s North East region and contribute to the growth of Scottish business both in expansion and job creation. Developers charged with the responsibility of overseeing construction of the park said the site is ideal for business considering its proximity to the A96 road as well as the future Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.

The Aberdeen City Council has earmarked the land for business park development in its local development plan, and now permission for detailed planning is under preparation. Kate Dean, the Enterprise, planning and infrastructure convener said they are determined to provide every help that will be necessary to secure the best land to support the growth of Scottish business.

Dean said this is a perfect example of the government and Scottish business players joining hands to secure a strategic business location with the best proximity to Aberdeen Airport and the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.
